Last year our son and two of his friends were involved in a horrific head-on collision between 2 vehicles in late evening darkness when extreme road ice prevailed. West Cork Rapid Response was one of the first responders that attended the scene along with emergency services from Bantry and Drimoleague. Without a doubt, the fast response from Jason Van Der Velde and his team aided in saving the lives of both our son and his friends during the traumatic event, and we will always be sincerely thankful to them. West Cork Rapid Response is a volunteer organization that supports the existing HSE National Ambulance Service. Any contributions are warmly welcomed to continue this terrific service that will help save many more lives.
