Help Katelyn Beat Cancer!

Update!!

Hey friends and family, quick update on Katelyn. She has healed enough from surgery to start her rounds of chemo. She is doing great considering what she's already been through but still needs our help.

Oh, and check out her new hairdo ,We think she's pretty badass!

My sister-in-law Katelyn is a 35-year-old mother of 2, and has recently been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She has a plan in place to beat this, but is going to need our help filling in the gaps that her insurance doesn’t account for. She has already completed the first step (Double Mastectomy) and will be recovering from the surgery for the next month or so. The next step will be going through rounds of both Chemotherapy and Radiation, totaling 24 weeks.

Finally, she will return for a 2nd surgery (Reconstruction) sometime in April next year. Her primary focus during this time will be on her recovery, but the family still needs to account for the lost wages in the meantime. She plans to try to continue working between rounds of chemo, but that is subject to change and is not a sure thing.

In order to try to lessen the strain, we’re setting the goal at $50,000. This will be used to cover the loss of her income, home care, prescriptions, physical therapy, as well as the portion of the medical costs not covered by her insurance.
