Hi my name is Alvin Borrero. I am a single father raising my young teenage daughter Madison Nicole Borrero. My daughter is diagnosed with 30-degree scolioses. She was receiving treatment from her doctors and physical therapy by a licensed therapist in scoliosis. My insurance provider is Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield an Anthem Company from New York State. Empire stopped coverage of my daughter's needed treatment due to a duplicate account in the state of Virginia. This drastically affected my daughter's mental health and physical condition and well-being. Empire questioned me about the duplicate coverage in Virginia and I informed them that I am unaware of such coverage. Empire proceeded with an investigation. The investigation took about a year to clear. The outcome was a 3rd-party had illegally possessed my daughter's information and fraudulently open a policy in Virginia. Once we were cleared and I was told to open a new policy. That took months to reopen coverage for my daughter and was not yet approved to resume her treatment. Months later while waiting for approval I received the medical bills from the previous treatment that came into the thousands. Then I was informed by the Doctors and therapist that Empire requested their money back. I then communicated with Empire about the medical bills. They informed me that I have passed their time frame for an appeal that has lapsed for the previous medical bills. I then communicated with Empire I was unaware that the medical bills were returned to Empire. Now I am responsible for the payment of the previous medical bills.

I am an army veteran and a gig worker driving for UBER in NYC for five years just barely making ends meet. These medical bills have accumulated into the thousand and I'm at my wit's end. This is the reason I am reaching out to GOFUNDME and see if help is available. I am pleading for assistance for my beautiful daughter to have a future like all Americans should have. Hello, my name is Alvin Borrero, you have probably read about the fundraiser I started for my daughter Madison N Borrero. I want to give my thanks and gratitude to those who have contributed and donated to my daughter's health and well-being. You have given me a newfound belief in humanity in a world of chaos and deceit. You have shown me they are good people that remain in this world. As a veteran people tell me "Thank you for your service" and I always respond with "Thank you for your support". Making me feel like a hero but the truth is, I joined the Army out of duty and country. I wish I could name all the donators who have contributed towards my daughter well being. They are true heroes with their selfless acts of kindness and charity is not done out of duty or country. Those acts come from their heart and humanity. They are true heroes who fight from the heart. They are the true soldiers of humanity.

Today is Madison's birthday, today she turns sixteen. Today is a memorable moment for me. Today we celebrate an American tradition, my little girl is coming to age as a young lady. Thow it is difficult for a father to endure, but it is a proud moment to remember. I sense she has mixed emotions being raised without a mother and her condition, is not easy for both of us. But the smile on her face was priceless, despite of her insecurities due to her condition. She has yet to realize just how beautiful she is.
