Funeral expenses

Dear friends, family, and my fellow community members: 

With much love, I share with all the death of my mother, Vanna. Many of you may not know her as she lived in Cambodia. For those of you who know me, I’m not one to talk much about my mother. She was a fighter to the very end so much that none of us thought it was the end just yet. 

My mother was a genocide survivor who doesn’t let the past keep her from moving forward. Her laughter could brighten your day, her warm, kind, heart makes you wish she was your mother, and her love resonates within our very being. Though I live far from her and see her once every few years, the bond between us is profound.

As most of you know me, I’m not one who likes to solicit for financial help but I’m putting aside my pride and reaching out for help in this most difficult journey. 

With the help of my sister and brother, uncle and aunt, other family members, and friends in Cambodia, we are planning a modest but proper traditional Cambodian funeral ceremony and every little bit helps. Your donation will help with flowers, funeral procession, equipment rental, cremation, food and refreshments, and travel expenses to Cambodia for myself and my family to take part in the ceremony. 

With a heavy heart, I thank you for taking the time to read this message about my sweet, kind-hearted mother, Vanna.
