Save Rick's Life

We have set up this Gofund me on behalf of two incredible humans that could really use our help!

Rick and Amanda are two of the most amazing people you could ever meet! A little over a year ago, Rick became very I’ll, and after almost a year of doctor visits and being sent away, they found that Rick has esophageal cancer that was being untreated, causing it to spread. Rick has been since enduring countless treatments taking a hard toll on his body, but things were finally looking up. They were able to return to their home in Puerto Rico and try and begin a normalish life again.

Sadly that was until recently when things took a hard turn and Rick was emergency rushed back to Utah due to severe abdominal pain. This is when they realized he now has ascites which is a buildup of fluid in the abdomen. On top of this his liver function is severely down causing bile to backup. This caused things to spiral quickly even more and he has now been in the hospital for almost 30 days and things are not improving. He has, in the last few days, undergone multiple back-to-back surgeries and that doesn’t even include his treatment for the cancer, which he can’t return to until his body gains strength.

Unfortunately, with how things are looking, chemo may no longer be an option at this point. It could potentially do more harm than good. Rick is running out of options; the options he has left come with $$$$ attached as they are alternative therapies. It’s heartbreaking to say the severity of this couldn't be much worse, but in reality these treatments may be the only thing that can save Rick’s life at this point. They really need our help now more than ever! Anything you are willing to donate helps them get the life-saving treatment Rick really needs right now.
