Mayastrong ( Heart Transplant )

My name is Victoria Johnson , this is something I really tried to hold out doing because I really was trying to  maintain this on my own .... but I have to do what I have to do for my babygirl ... Camaya Ariel is 11years old and is soon going to be put on  the list for a heart transplant . She was born May 5,2008  and had open heart surgery in 2009 at Mcv hospital . To my understanding , everything was fix and her heart was pumping as it should ... but in 2014 she had more complications and I was advise that she had some damage to her liver .... Her belly would swell up and she would lose protein in her gut ... she was hospitalized for 4 months .... the cardiologist and the gi doctor were working together to try to figure out why this was happening ...the cardiologist assured me that her heart was not the cause of this  and was pumping fine . In January of 2019 the Gi doctor advised me that we should get a second opinion about her heart and  we were sent to Pittsburgh Children’s hospital and we were advise that her heart caused her liver to damage and she would need a heart transplant.... hearing those words broke me not only because she needed a transplant but because I was told for years that her heart was pumping fine ....how was this missed and my baby has been  suffering for 5 years just to know it was her heart ... Now  she is  getting all her labs  done and being work up for a heart transplant .... and being that said  she would have to get on the list for a donor that can take up to 6 months , so we are having to go back to Pittsburgh on May 31st 2019 for her to get open heart surgery to see if the surgeons can repair some things to alleviate some of her symptoms ... I would have never thought in a million years this would be happening ....My baby ... my only baby is going through something that I can’t relate to ... I can only be by her side .... I want to be able to be there every step of the way and I have .... I’ve exhausted my vacation time , my 41k ... to the point I’m no longer getting a paycheck from work anymore .... I’m trying to maintain my job so she can have insurance because I need my baby to get through this and  I don’t need nothing denying her from  getting the best care she can get .Im also trying to maintain a home for her and make sure I’m there for her which can be a challenge for me .... I would like to at least pay my bills up and get a sufficient car to be able to travel back and forth to Pittsburgh because rental cars can be expensive.I don’t want to have to  ever choose my job over taking care of my babygirl because I have to make sure she has a home to go to after all this is done .... I do believe God will make a way for us ..... We appreciate any help we can get because this is something I just have to put my pride to the side and make sure my babygirl is okay ..... thanks in advance #mayastrong#
