Hi friends and family of Kyla, Ben, Stella and Hazel Smith:
If you are reading this, you know a little bit about my awesome friend Kyla Stewart Smith. Kyla and I met in sixth grade, and have held onto each other tightly ever since. I consider myself to be the lucky one. I knew she was strong, but never saw the power of her strength until watching her carefully maneuver through life these past couple of years.
Most recently, going from two incomes to one, has taken on a toll on this incredibly hard-working woman and passionate mommy. Many of you have asked how to help, and a little extra money will go a long way. “Giving” will allow Kyla to spend a little more time focused on day-to-day life with her precious little girls.
The Smith Family’s largest need at this time is helping with the cost of the monthly bills. If you’d rather not donate directly through the site, the family could also benefit greatly from grocery store gift cards (Wegman’s is where they shop most often!). Any help, no matter how small, would be appreciated! Go Fund Me has an option to make a monthly donation, which could continue to assist the family until they get on their feet and see where the next chapter in life may take them.
I think it took a lot for Ky to say “yes” to get this page through Go Fund Me up and running. She has been working hard to do this on her own for a long time. Although I am sure she still can, this added assistance will help to ease some of the big picture worries. As John Lennon once said “I get by with a little help from my friends.” It’s time to let her friends and family help!
