Surviving Med Sch Fund

It had been a long journey getting into medical school (interviews, medical entrance exams and all) and saving up for it. However, one year into medical school, the expenses required far exceeded what I had managed to gather and set aside for the entire duration of medical school; and I am having difficulties budgeting for rent, transport and food. Having a tight schedule in school meant being unable to look for a casual job while studying.

As I have very short summer holidays, and virtually a non-existent winter holiday, I spend this precious time either volunteering in clinics or receiving training in hospitals. Essentially, I would want to graduate as a doctor who cares for her patients as much as being able to treat the illness.


While I am unable to give back anything tangible at this point in time, I would really be grateful for any help rendered. What I can do is to focus on my medical studies and training, and give my best to the community.


The amount that I am trying to raise would cover rent (AUD210 a week, includes utility and Internet bills), transport (AUD20 a week, traveling between school and the hospital) and expenses for food, groceries and insurance (about AUD280 a month) for a year.
