Help Replace The Doc Squad's Stolen Equipment!

We are reaching out to our community for support as we face an unfortunate setback in our efforts to empower and inspire young minds through our youth summer media-justice program, a multi-organizational collaborative effort being provided by Earth Care, Working Classroom, National Hispanic Cultural Center, Future Focused Education, and SWOP. On Wednesday, our dedicated film mentor, Josh Mike-Bidtah, fell victim to a mugging where his personal camera equipment, along with essential film gear belonging to our program, was stolen. The total loss amounts to approximately $10,000, and without this equipment, we are struggling to continue providing a transformative experience for our aspiring media makers and environmental justice organizers.
Program Overview: Our 8-week youth summer program aims to develop and nurture the talents of young individuals, providing them with the tools and skills necessary to become future media creators and advocates for environmental justice. Through hands-on experiences and mentorship, we empower our participants to explore their creativity, amplify their voices, and tell compelling stories that drive positive change in our community.
The Incident: While putting gas at the Speedway on Coors and Central, Josh Mike-Bidtah was brutally mugged by a group of individuals. They attacked him, causing physical harm, and forcibly took his personal camera, a Nikon D850, as well as the film equipment that belonged to our program. The stolen items include a Sony A7II, a 24mm lens, a 50mm lens, an 85mm lens, a Tascam DR-10L lavalier microphone (belonging to our program director, John Acosta), and a Sony A7RII with a 24-105mm G-Master lens(also belonging to John Acosta). Additionally, various drives, lights, and sound equipment belonging to Josh were also taken.
Our Goal: We are determined to bounce back from this setback and continue providing our youth summer program with the resources they need to succeed. Our primary goal is to raise $10,000 to replace the stolen camera equipment and related gear that belonged to our film mentor Josh Mike-Bidtah and our Program Director John Acosta, respectively. With your generous contribution, we can ensure that their equipment is replaced and that our young participants don't miss out on the invaluable opportunity to develop their skills and make a positive impact on our community.
How You Can Help:
Donate: Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in helping us reach our goal. Your support will directly impact the lives of young individuals who aspire to create meaningful media and champion environmental justice causes.

Offer Equipment: If you have any unused or spare camera equipment that you are willing to donate or sell at a reduced cost, please reach out to us. Your generous contribution will be greatly appreciated and enable us to rebuild our inventory.
Conclusion: The theft of our camera equipment has dealt a severe blow to our youth summer program, but we are determined not to let it hinder our mission. With your support, we can replace the stolen gear and continue empowering young individuals to become future media makers and environmental justice organizers. Your donation will have a lasting impact on our participants' lives and contribute to the positive change they strive to create in our community. Thank you for your generosity and for standing beside us in solidarity during this challenging time.
