Capps Family
Over the last few weeks several people have reached out and asked if there was anything that mom, Kati, or our family needs. After thinking long and hard we have a very unconventional need.
Almost 3 years ago Kati selflessly stepped away from a full-time job with benefits, a promising midwifery career and put her entire life on hold to take care of our mom when she was diagnosed with ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS; also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) is a neurodegenerative neuromuscular disease that results in the progressive loss of motor neurons that control voluntary muscles. Most cases of ALS (about 90% to 95%) have no known cause, and this disease is always fatal. There is no cure with an average survival from onset to death of two to four years.
Kati has moved mountains and made many sacrifices to make sure our mom has the things she needs. Therefore, the only thing we can think that would help our family is to lesson the burden of anxiety around Kati’s private student loan debt.
If that makes you uncomfortable or not your style of help please consider donating to Girl ScoutsSHARE in honor of our mom Tina Capps.
