MARATHON- Why I Run:
I run to feel the Music
I run to feel the fresh Air
I run to forget the Rage
I run to forget the Anxiety
I run to embrace the Time
I run to embrace the Honor
I run to remember the Oath
I run to remember the Need
I run this MARATHON for the future of the Maine American Legion
~ Caroline Yarmala
A unique opportunity and the bonds of family and friends gives way to a hope for the future
Caroline followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the Navy to serve our country. In 2005 she left home and was stationed in Gulfport, MS with (Seabee Battalion) NBCB 1 for five years of active duty.
In 2010 she moved back to reunite with her family in the beautiful state of Maine. A few years later she found a new way to continue her service by joining the American Legion at Post 202 in Topsham. The Maine American Legion Family gave her a renewed sense of comradery and taught her about the programs that could help support other veterans and their families in times of need, as well as aid youth in their time of growth.
In 2019 an American Legion friend, inspired by her own father’s service, offered Caroline the opportunity for a unique life experience and way to raise money for the great American Legion programs. A daughter of the American Legion, inspired by her father’s military service and continued dedication with the American Legion, has honored Caroline with an invitational bib to the 2020 Boston marathon.
With this great honor Caroline will fight to the finish line to raise money for the American Legion Department of Maine Foundation.
She has been training for this endeavor with hard work and commitment; motivated by her father as her training coach and supported by the American Legion family.
But she still needs your help with donations to meet our goal for the American Legion Department of Maine Foundation, to fight to the finish line and fund the future of these extraordinary programs.
Please join Team Caroline as she fights to the finish line of the Boston Marathon for the American Legion Department of Maine Foundation.
We are raising money to benefit American Legion Department of Maine Foundation, and your donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much!
