Giving Tuesday

Harbor City School is a non profit preschool located in East Boston serving children in the community ages 2.9- 5 years. Harbor City School closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and reopened in September of 2020, with a committed and dedicated teaching team, and a brand new director! Over the last year, Staff has been navigating a new team, while working so hard in the midst of the pandemic (which we are still facing) to help our students thrive! We've added so much to our school over the last year including Reggio Emilia curriculum materials, Reggio Emilia curriculum books for staff, professional development for staff, and more financial aid for families, as well as accepting vouchers so ALL children have access to our programming. We feel our classrooms are now truly reflective of our mission which in part states:

 

"Harbor City School, children will develop an understanding of what it means to be a member of a community; that they are responsible for their actions and the effects they have on those around them. We teach against all forms of discrimination, intolerance and injustice in the world and in our interactions with each other. As members, children will develop ways to contribute to the classroom and value the contributions of others. We recognize and value our differences as opportunities to learn from one another, as well as celebrate our similarities and common goals. Harbor City School will be a place in which all families feel valued, represented, and welcome to contribute to the school environment, regardless of race, religion, sex, political beliefs, family structure or life choices."

 

Our success depends in large part on the support of the local community we serve. We hope you will consider helping us continue to succeed by making a donation. The money raised will help to support our school to offer higher amounts financial aid to families, to continue to help offset the cost of vouchers to the school, as well as helping to support our school by providing our student with curriculum materials.
