Hello Everyone,
Some of you might not be aware of this, but during my senior year of college I started having health problems, mainly a pain in my chest that would come and go with no rhyme or reason. One night it became bad and I even went to the hospital, but they told me it was nothing. That pain started over a year ago and I still have it. At some point I guess decided to live with it. Since then I was in a minor car crash, had two CT Scans, an ultrasound, gone to the doctor's office numerous times. My diagnosis has gone from hypertension, to acid reflux, to possible appendicitis, to kidney stones, to a kidney infection and back and forth between them. The pain has gone from in my chest to most of my left side, front and back. Recently I have had more energy, but the pain has gotten worse. All of by tests come back normal. The hospital said I was fine. I am neither normal nor fine. I don't have the money to pay for test after test that shows nothing. Due to my weight I cannot get insurance, and the state won't supply it to me either.
Right now is my first year out of college. I had decided to take this year to work, study for my graduate school exams, and be a substitute teacher so that my Peace Corp application would look as good as I could make it. Right, I forgot to mention that, I had put in an application to be a Peace Corp Volunteer, but eventually my health became an obvious issue and was forced to withdraw the application. I had planned on volunteering and upon my return going to graduate school. I had not intended on looking for a full time job, as it would interfere with my sub work, but now it is not as big of an issue. The issue now is that I never planned to find full time work with my undergraduate degree, and now I have not only student loans, but medical bills to deal with, on top of credit card debt that I was using to supplement my student loans when they ran out. I am trying to find work at the moment, and thanks to some good friends I have some options, but I still need help. I managed to have my tuition covered at school through grants and federal aid school, but living there was a separate issue. I don't come from a family with a whole lot of money, and I don't resent my parents for that in the slightest, but it does mean that I need to ask for whatever help I can get from everyone.
I could keep going, but everyone can understand by this point. My goal is to raise money to help pay for medical bills that will be coming my way, and to help pay for my student loans and other debt so that I can keep working my way towards my dreams. I want to be writer, which nothing can take away from me, but I also want to be a college professor and that I still need some help with, and most of all I just want to be healthy again. I need all the help I can get if surgery is in my future, which it more than likely will be. I would appreciate anything you can donate. If all I raise is a hundred dollars than that will be one less medical bill payment. If I raise 20,000 dollars I might be able to fix my problem and keep moving towards my goals.
Thanks everyone,
