Starting Over After House Explosion

This morning my brother-in-law, Mike, came over to help round up calves. It’s the annual “working of the calves” weekend. He realized he forgot to take his medications so he went home to get them. He opened some windows, took his meds (blood pressure, aspirin and some supplements) and as he stepped out the door to round up the cattle his home exploded. He is currently in the hospital recovering from surgery to repair his broken arm and he will be in the hospital under supervision for a day or so to make sure there isn’t any blast injuries that show up. Everything is a total loss. What didn’t get blown apart either melted or is now ash. He has health insurance but not home insurance. There was no one else there as all his kids are grown. They have stepped up to help with immediate needs but Mike will need help getting back on his feet. Mike has a heart of gold. He is retired Airforce and has lived on the homestead for many, many years. He has driven school bus for the past 2 years and has developed a great relationship with the kids. He likes to play games with them when they are new to the bus. The deal is, if he calls them by the wrong name they get to call him any name they want (within reason and appropriate ness). At the end of the school year he took all the kids on his bus to the local gas station and bought everyone a soda and candy bar. He’s a big ‘ol teddy bear and in the winter he looks like Santa with his white beard and big round belly. Mike is 63, he lives very simply. He has a little land but not enough to use for collateral in regards to a house. We are hoping to raise enough money for this kind hearted soul to help him defer medical costs and re-establish a home. Currently he has 1 pair of pants, 1 shoe, and thankfully his vehicle was at our house so he doesn't need to replace that. Thank you in advance for anything you can do, including prayers.
