Pine Cove Commission Camping

As you probably know, I worked at Pine Cove Christian Camps this past summer. I served as a lifeguard and counselor for 0-4 year olds at one of the family camps in Tyler, and absolutely loved it. I was taught to be a servant, focusing only on how I could make His name greater, and I learned so much about how He is made known through my weakness. I was honestly more impacted by those I came into contact with than I ever would have thought possible. The Lord stretched me, broke me, and modeled me every single day. Through my experiences, I felt a call to continue serving in whatever way I could and since I love the ministry that Pine Cove is, I decided to join them on an international mission trip called Commission Camping.
In 2004, Pine Cove began its Commission Camping program by going to Costa Rica to work with two churches there. The plan was to join with Christian Camping International (CCI) Latin America to teach and equip the leaders of these churches/camps how to use camping ministry as outreach. Each partnership is designed to be three years and by the third year to see the camp be able to stand on its own. This is accomplished by modeling what we do at Pine Cove for the leaders and equipping them with the necessary resources to put on a camp. Each year the “baton” is progressively passed through teaching effective principles of Christian camping. As all of this is done, we seek to learn about their culture and work together to implement a program that is specific to the Latin American people.
Pine Cove has seen the successful completion of many partnerships throughout Latin America and will be sending 10 teams to 8 countries this January. I have been selected to go to El Salvador! Each team will have 15 college students and 2 full-time staff following God’s call to go and make disciples in Latin America.
What I am asking of you is to first PRAY PRAY PRAY for God’s direction and provision for this trip! Secondly, I am asking you to prayerfully consider supporting my trip because in this day and age, this just isn't free. I am trusting the Lord to raise $2450 for this trip by December 1st.
