Help fund Ellie's recovery

Our long-time friend Ellie has had her careful plans upended by a sudden serious medical emergency.

Ellie carefully planned a career switch from a dead-end job to her dream job as an airline pilot. As an incredibly dedicated and hardworking person, she quit the dead-end job after she was admitted to a highly competitive flight school and awarded a loan (equivalent to a student loan) to pursue flight training full-time. In order to become a pilot as soon as possible, Ellie set out a busy and consistent plan to finish her training and required flight hours.

Everything was on track until she was struck by a sudden sinus infection that blew out her eardrum, caused vertigo, and is now contributing to a longer-term illness. All of this has resulted in her losing the medical clearance needed to fly and requires her to pay back a portion of the student loans related to flight school.

Due to these continuing medical issues, she has also been unable to work and we are setting up this gofundme so that she can have the time she needs to recover and assess her future options. This fund will help her pay monthly expenses and anything extra will go towards medical expenses and student loans.
