Justice for My Son
Donation protected
Hello, my name is LaShawn and I am funding for my son Keith. He is a 27 year old young man who has fulfilled many goals and aspirations, such as being a firefighter as well as a completing a degree in accounting and administration. Both of his parents play an active roll in his life leading Keith to becoming a very caring and family oriented young man. Unfortunately, one night he found himself in the company of the wrong people. Keith and his roommate, Mr.O’Brien (a white male), had a few friends over, when the police came to search the apartment with a warrant for Mr.O’Brien, who had a record. While the police found nothing in Keith’s room they did find drug paraphernalia and a gun in Mr.O’Brien’s possession and he was charged. After the search one of the young lady’s in the apartment was leaving when police asked if they could search her vehicle to which she consented. After finding drugs and a gun in the vehicle she stated they weren’t hers and it belonged to the young man in the apartment, causing the police to arrest Keith. He was wrongfully accused, he had just met the young lady and had never been in her car. While Keith may have got in trouble as a minor he has never had a run in with the law as a adult. Now both charged with possession, Keith a young black man is facing 30 years to life, while Mr. O’Brien, a white male is just receiving 13 months. Due to medical and financial circumstances I am unable to help my son the way I want, so I am asking for help. During his trail he was represented by a public defender, and we would like to appeal the court’s decision with a paid lawyer. Please donate what you can, even a dollar will make a difference. Our family thanks you in advanced. My son was wrongfully accused and doesn’t deserve the sentence given.
