#Bradystrong Brady Sprik's Spinal Cord Recovery
Donation protected
In October 2017, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. I broke my back and every tooth in my mouth but 3. I had back surgery and am fused from T2-T7 and have had 2 years worth of mouth reconstruction surgery. Prior to my accident I was very active and involved in sports year round. I played baseball, football, basketball and track. After my original surgery I was flown to Craig Hospital in Englewood, CO and did inpatient therapy and also a lot of out patient therapy. I did not have any movement following my surgery, but after 8 weeks was able to wiggle my left toe. A month later I had some movement in my right leg. My parents have done everything that they can to try and get me the best therapy over the last couple of years. I have returned to Craig hospital numerous times and also do therapy locally in my hometown of Platte and also travel to Sioux Falls for therapy. In January of this year we went to Shriners Hospital in Chicago for a couple weeks of therapy too. I got home from Colorado on December 21, 2017 and went back to school on Jan. 2, 2018. So I have been able to stay with my class and will graduate high school at the end of 2021, I am currently a Senior. Two items that we recently purchased were a Bioness Go, it is a stim unit that I have been trialing at Craig Hospital and in Sioux Falls. What it is, is a cuff that goes around my right leg, just under my knee and then I put a sensor in my shoe and according to my walk pattern, it would stim at a certain time to help lift my right foot as it drags, due to more damage on that side. And we purchased a treadmill. What I am trying to raise funds for now is to be considered for a stem cell treatment at Rejuv in Minnesota. The cost of this is $7,500.00, therefore we changed the goal amount to be able to look into the stem cell treatment. My mom started a Facebook page called #BRADYSTRONG Brady Sprik's road to recovery if you want to follow my journey.
Thank you all so much for considering to donate, it will truly help me, to continue on my road to recovery.
