On Christmas Day, December 25th, 2023, my daughter Missy and her husband Matt Emery faced a harrowing and devastating event. A severe storm struck Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast, and in a shocking twist, a tornado tore through their home, leaving them, along with my grandchildren, Ivy & Stanley, without a roof over their heads. By some miracle, they managed to find safety at a neighbour's house amidst the chaos.

The road to recovery from such a traumatic experience is long and fraught with challenges, both physically and emotionally. The journey ahead will undoubtedly be a tough one, stretching out for many months, perhaps even longer.

In light of this, I'm reaching out to you, my friends, with a heartfelt plea for support. Any assistance you can provide for their immediate needs—temporary housing, food, clothing, and the costs associated with clean-up efforts—will be invaluable.
