Facebook page: @ArcherPittorino This page and GoFundMe is for my dear friends, The Pittorino Family and their 7 year old son Archer who has been diagnosed with High Risk T-cell CNS Acute Lymphoblastic Leukamia.

He has not responded to several chemo treatments and is in urgent need of ANOTHER Bone Marrow Transplant after already having undergone the same on the 13th of October.

He has a narrow window of opportunity to proceed, and commence the transplant whilst his disease burden is low. He is expected to stay in hospital until after Christmas and into 2021. It has been decided his dedicated father Michael to be the most appropriate donor, and, so a bone marrow harvest will be performed on 13th October 2020. The cells will then be infused to Archer. Throughout the last year since being diagnosed, he has had to endure countless hospital admissions lumber punctures, 10 months of chemotherapy, fortnightly chemotherapies direct into his spine, total of 13 bone marrow aspirations, several Scans incl CT, MRI, Echos, kidney function tests, 3 Nasal Gastric tubes (feeding tubes) 4 Covid swabs, Multiple MRSA tests (viruses) and countless other harrowing experiences for such a young child. Archer will continue to face ongoing challenges. The Dept. of Oncology have advised that due to Archers particular disease type, that they had no good second options and that figuratively speaking they are putting all their eggs in the one basket. The devastation the Pittorino family are facing is real. Due to the intensity of his condition, the major risk of the outcome cannot be predicted. Spider-Man’s greatest fan Archer has faced his fears going in each day, like the little super hero he aspires to be. As at 29/09/2020, he has commenced his Cranial Radiation. He will be admitted into hospital on the 5th October, where he will prepare to undergo TBI (Total Body Radiation) twice daily for three days. This would then be followed by a day of Etoposide on the 9th and on 13th perform the Bone Marrow Transplant. He will endure 2x more rounds of Chemo post-transplant 29th Sep – 4th October 2020 Cranial Radiation 6-8th October 2020 Ablative TBI Total Body Irradiation 9th October 2020 Etoposide 13th October 2020 Stem Cell Infusion / Bone Marrow Transplant Due to Covid19, the wards in the kids cancer unit at Westmead Hospital have become sad and awfully dreary. The fits of laughter and joy Starlight are known to bring, no longer there to dim away the fear and pain of being sick. Archer is isolated in his room and is not permitted to use the shared facilities and/or setups for him to assimilate and enjoy the social interaction with other children going through the same. It is literally the worst time for a child to be sick Archer is 1 of 4 boys. His eldest brother and best friend Mason is 8 yrs old and his younger brothers, Harley who’s 2yrs old and Calum is just 5 months. He is the Lego Master and loves playing his Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 4, the trampoline, playing in the backyard with Nerfs with his big brother and spending time on the water and at the beach. He’s daddy’s best buddy and mummy’s precious little man. This beautiful family are caring, loving and are wonderful friends to those that know them. Most importantly they have big hearts and have always been there for others. As they find themselves in unfamiliar territory and now on the other side of giving, they really struggle to receive. In recent years, they have had to deal with the recent loss of Michael’s father as well as their best friends. Sadly, they are now having to face whats landed on their front doorstep. Michael and Dianne are devasted and uncertain of what the future holds for their family. Currently, Michael is unable to maintain his employment because he is needed to care for his infant boys at home. He also had to undergo a Bone Marrow Harvest on the 13/10 and then a lengthy and intense recovery, as his body tried to replace what was harvested. Both their immediate family live in Taree and country NSW and are unable to be available often, and their visits are far and few in between. They are distraught for their children and their grandchildren, but Covid19 has proven to be merciless and has cost them their good health and the ability to be closeby Lets get behind this family and support Archers Fight!
