Helping Hand for Baby Milo
Donation protected
Anyone who has known me for more than a day, probably knows that my niece and nephews mean the world to me. We have 7-year-old Saevin, who is incredibly intelligent and outgoing - loves books, video games, and LOVES to laugh. 4-year-old Mariella, coming into her inner diva, but loves her older and baby brothers and her mama more than anything. And of course, baby Milo, one of the sweetest and smiliest babies I’ve ever met.
Milo was born nearly 9 months ago with a condition called hydrocephalus, excess water on the brain. Aside from being born deaf, and the countless treatments he’s undergone since coming into this world, Milo has lived a fairly normal life. He has an amazing mother (my sister and best friend), fantastic father, and two pretty awesome siblings Saevin and Mari.
This past weekend, my sister and her husband came to visit me in Miami (a nearly 20 hour drive). This was the first time either of them had been away from Milo for more than a day or so. Just one day into their visit, my sister received a call from a family member informing us that Milo had entered into a series of seizures and that he had been airlifted to a major children’s hospital in Indianapolis (3 hours or so from my sister’s house). They immediately jumped in the car and drove non-stop through the night to Indy to be by Milo’s side. Late Monday night, the neurosurgeons successfully placed a shunt in Milo’s brain. He is currently in stable condition, however will remain under close supervision for some time.
While my sister is incredibly humble and would never ask for help, I know she needs it now more than ever. Aside from medical expenses, she will also be unable to work in coming months and will likely have to find temporary housing in Indianapolis in order to maintain all of Milo’s upcoming appointments. It’s not easy for me to write this, but if you would be willing to help out in any way, it would be more than appreciated by my family. A dollar, a few dollars, a gift card to the grocery store – any and all gifts are welcome. If you’d like to make a monetary donation, you can do so at the link below. We also welcome any prayers and good energy you can send Milo’s way.
Thanks so much for your help,
Aaron
