Mental health community support

Hi everyone, I’m Darren, 48, and here is a little about my story.
3 years ago I was in a bad place in my mind, I didn’t want to be here, socialist, be around family, I would sit in my car in Asda car park in a dark place. No one knew how bad my mental health was, including myself I didn’t know why I didn’t want to be here, I quit my business after 20 years and let it all slip away.
Fast forward 3 years and I am back to my thriving self, it has been a fight I never want to see another person go through, I have a job, amazing support around me after admitting to myself and my close friends & family my dark thoughts, this was the hardest step admitting I needed help.
One of the things that got me through & that still helps me is fishing. I have found a community support network called Tacking Minds (tackling minds was founded in 2020, they are are established with Angling events within the Uk and offer support to people from all walks of life that are struggling with a range of mental health issues, social depravation, long term health conditions, disabilities and family turmoil) (you can click there website www.tacklingminds.org)this is my chosen charity to raise money for. They are trying to raise funds for a new mini bus to help transport there fishing gear and people, this is something I would like to contribute to and all you lovely people I am hoping will help me along the way. I will be doing a charity boxing match on 29th October at the John Charles centre LS10. I have started my training (unfortunately left the fundraiser but until the last minute!)
