Downtown Community Park
Donation protected
For too long Dexter Maine has been littered with buildings that are abandoned or in complete disrepair. One of those buildings was the CN Brown convenience store on Spring street. The building is gone and all that remains is a parking lot. Dexter needs a community spot for a farmers market, small park, benches, and amphitheater style seating to attract tourists to stop and experience our wonderful town. This empty lot is perfect. It looks out over the site for the Red Hot Dog Festival, museums and downtown. Instead of donating it to the town, CN Brown company want $100,000 for the spot or they are going to let it sit idle. This fundraiser is to buy the lot and turn it into an attractive location that will boost the appeal of Dexter. Please donate so we can buy the lot and revitalize it. Main Street America is disappearing so let’s keep Dexter strong with community functions, concerts, live music and fun. Don’t let another chain store buy up more land and take opportunities from local people!
