Hello, my name is Meghan Carlson,
On behalf of our family, I’m reaching out to share our story about someone very special in our life—my aunt Jennifer Slavensky. Recently, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and as her family is navigating this challenging journey, we are seeking your support to help cover her medical bills.
**Medical Update** Jen had an MRI of her brain on October 14th and a new finding appeared. She has been diagnosed with a metastatic brain tumor that was caused by breast cancer. For the next 30 days, Jen will be not only given radiation for the cancer but also for her brain tumor.**
October is breast cancer awareness month. One in eight women are diagnosed with this terrible disease. Last October Jennifer Slavensky was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of the disease-stage 3, triple-negative breast cancer. It has truly been a journey for this fine lady and her family. This included diagnosis, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, forty-plus trips to Provo to see doctor after doctor and get treatment (not to mention the illness, weakness, fatigue and medication to help with the treatment of such). Jennifer had surgery on September 9th, 2024 only to learn that her cancer had even progressed further. She will soon begin 7 weeks of radiation, will continue on immunotherapy and start a new regimen of chemotherapy- more travel. The battle continues for this despicable disease.
My aunt has always been a beacon of light in our family. She’s the one who brings us together, sharing laughter and love at every family gathering. Her strength and kindness have touched so many lives, and now, it’s our turn to be there for her in her time of need.
The medical journey ahead is daunting and costly. Treatments, medications, and hospital visits are adding up quickly, and while her husband, daughter, and son are doing their best to support her, the financial burden is heavy. We are hoping to raise funds to help alleviate some of these expenses so she can focus on her treatment and recovery without the added stress of financial worry.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to us. Together, we can show my aunt that she is not alone in this fight.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, love, and prayers during this challenging time.
With gratitude,
