Rey, Sarah and a Family In Need

“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal”Rey is the husband of my good friend Sarah. Rey was diagnosed with a benign pituitary tumor a couple months ago and had surgery to remove it on 6/1. The surgeon got almost all the tumor out (because of the type of tumor and location, it’s almost impossible to get it all out and he’ll undergo radiation later). Rey was expected to have a 3 day ICU stay and then be discharged home. Sarah and Rey were counting on this as, Rey, was only given 2 weeks off work with paid. Unfortunately he had some complications, one of which is a cerebral spinal leak. He was discharged last week, but had to come back on Friday due to the CSF leak worsening. He underwent a second surgery to patch the leak and have a lumbar drain put in. He is currently in the ICU as they monitor the drain. Today it was determined the drain is not helping as he started leaking CSF, again. Rey was hoping to go home on Thursday as his 2 weeks off with paid is up on Friday. Rey’s neurosurgeon is trying very hard to get a resolution for the CSF leak. At this time it’s a waiting game with the possibility of another drain being placed or possibly a shunt. Rey is an amazing, husband, father, uncle, son, brother and friend. He’s needs a miracle right now! Sometimes a miracle can come in the form of help from others. Rey and Sarah have 2 young sons to provide for. Sarah is unable to return to work as she needs to be with Rey while he battles this trial. Sarah is almost out of paid time off and the financial stress is taking a toll. Please consider donating to this beautiful family. Anything amount will help to ease the financial burdens, keep food on the table and a roof over their heads so Rey can focus on healing. “Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.”
