Fighting for life with Kayli (The Manning Family)

Donation protected
Recent Update:

Thank you for all of your prayers. Kayli is expected to undergo 3 rounds of chemo, each with 2 cycles. Her medical team had delayed her treatment due to her liver being injured by the last round of chemo in July. Her liver enzymes are still elevated but she needs the treatment. Also she is still suffering tremendously from ocular GVHD. Unfortunately her donor cells are attacking her eyes. She is absolutely miserable all day, everyday. If you've ever had a cornea abrasion, you know how painful it can be. Basically both eyes feel like she has sandpaper eyelids and are extremely dry and very irritated. She cannot even produce a tear. It breaks my heart to witness her suffering and not be able to fix it. We've seen an opthalmologist and they are doing all they can for her. She is using Restasis and steroid eye drops twice daily as well as preservative free tears nearly every 15 minutes. It is ruining her quality of life. We are hopeful to see a specialist at the University of Miami very soon. It has been such a tumultuous time. I don't know how our family would have made it through her bone marrow transplant without all of your kindness and generosity. I have been struggling to make ends meet lately because in addition to Kayli's care and treatment schedule, I had a slip and fall in May of which I was injured and unable to work for a while. Currently our family could very much use some financial assistance. I have tried to reach community services but they do not have funding. We appreciate you all so much. Please keep praying for Kayli and our family. If you cannot contribute, perhaps you can share our family's GoFundMe. We are so grateful for each of you. Remember, prayer is powerful. Please please keep praying.

Previous update:

Thank you tremendously to those who contributed recently! You have no idea how much it is needed and has blessed our family! We are grateful for you as we continue to navigate Kayli's treatment. Her hematologist informed us on her last visit that we've attempted all curative measures and at this point he will continue to do his best to control her leukemia. Please continue to pray for Kayli. Especially for the current GVHD she's experiencing in her eyes. It's been absolutely miserable for her. We appreciate all of you who care so very very much and I am praying for each of you every day, that God would bless you in unprecedented ways.

Original message:

Hi, my name is Kaymi Manning and I am an RN and single mother of 6, whose daughter, Kayli Manning is currently battling leukemia for the 6th time in her young life.

Our journey with leukemia started when Kayli was just 8 years old. Now, at 22 years old, Kayli has had a plethora of treatments over the past 14 years in effort to cure her of this life threatening cancer. Most recently, she received a CAR-T transplant in 2018 and targeted Proton radiation in 2021. Each treatment has prolonged her life and gave us more time. For that we are grateful.

Doctors are astounded that Kayli has continued to relapse of leukemia only in her CNS (central nervous system) requiring maintenance of intrathecal chemotherapy injected directly into her spinal fluid via lumbar puncture, on a weekly basis.

Unfortunately, the leukemia has become resistant to the intrathecal chemotherapy agent, and we are now on a fast track to Bone marrow transplant as our only salvage treatment option.

The reality of this breaks my heart.

However, we are fortunate that Kayli has a full sibling match, and her brother will be her bone marrow donor.

Kayli is a remarkable person who is kind and compassionate and who just wants to have an impact helping others. Despite all the adversity she has faced with her illness having been in and out of hospital homebound education, she graduated high school on time in 2019 and in that same year graduated as a full specialist esthetician from Aveda institute. She had just finished her prerequisites recently to start her sonography program to become an ultrasound tech when she relapsed in January.

"I will die trying to fight before I would ever just give up!" ~Kayli

She's a warrior and I just want to be by her side fighting in the trenches to support

This is where your generosity comes in. As a single mother, the sole income provider, and Kayli's primary caregiver, I am asking for contributions to assist with the cost of living during this process for my family and additional medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance. Any contributions made to this campaign will be used solely for this purpose.

If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign as much as possible.

I thank each and every one of you, in advance, for your consideration and your generosity. Thank you! We value and appreciate your support.
