Help Support the Garcia Family

UPDATE 3/24/22

Art was moved from the Roseville ICU to an ICU in Vacaville for further surgeries and stabilization, and finally moved from the ICU in Vacaville to a rehabilitation center in Vallejo. Here, he can focus on recovering from his injuries and regaining strength and motion. He is in a lot of pain after having so many surgeries in a short period of time, but has been giving it his all in rehab. As Art told us, the fact that he isn't mobile "it's unacceptable!" (say it in Art's voice, you'll know exactly why Nikki and I started laughing so hard).
At this point, Art's traumatic brain injury is the most concerning, though he is recovering well from that too. Nikki and Xe are doing well, and enjoying being home with Nikki's parents who can provide extra love, laughs and amazing Italian food 24/7. It will be a long road to complete physical and mental recovery for Art, but the support of everyone means the world. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, provided words of encouragement and private thoughts and prayers, your kindness means everything to Art and Nikki.

A little more than a week ago, we all heard the worst news anyone could ever think to hear. Art has been in the ICU with serious injuries- in an induced coma for several days- ever since that night. Unfortunately, he was also transferred to a facility outside of the Sacramento area for continued ICU care, which only adds to his family's strain. Amid a price surge in gas, being relocated to the Bay Area and other long-term associated costs, and loss of both incomes for his family, the Garcias will need all the help we can give.

Our worlds stopped, but the rest of the world didn't, and this is where we need your help. Art's wife, Nikki, and son Xe, will need all the support we can give during these next few weeks, months and years. If you know Art, you know that the only thing in life that matters to him is his family. To keep life as consistent as possible for Xe and to help Nikki in whatever ways you can would be the ultimate blessing for Art, and will allow him and Nikki to navigate the future without as much worry.

Art's sister-in-law, Aly, said it best- "The amount of times I've heard "I gotchu" from this man is enough to convince anyone that he does, in fact, gotchu. Art is always on a mission to be everyone's favorite guy. He does everything for everyone and I've never heard a single huff about it. If there's a baby in the room, he's holding it. If someone is hungry, he's making them a plate. If there are no seats open, he's standing."

Thank you to everyone who has already reached out and asked how they can help. Every single day, we're reminded how many people have been touched by Art and are willing to stick with it, come what may.
If you're unable to donate financially but can think of others ways to help the Garcia family, please reach out! Art loved everyone wholly and unconditionally, and we want all of his friends and family to feel the same. No one has to walk through this alone.
