Pray for Delano

On July 13th 2022, newlywed Delano Mussington was on his way home from work when he was tragically involved in a life threathening motor vehicle accident. Upon impact, he was unable to move or feel anything from his neck down. Once stabilized, he was immediately air lifted from Anguilla to Columbia, South America for further medical attention and care. After careful assessment, it was determined that Delano had suffered a major spinal cord injury with complications that required numerous surgical procedures and intense rehabilitation.

True to his nature, he remains with a positive outlook and hopes to make a full recovery. This journey is predicted to be a long and expensive one. Delano will be required to remain in Columbia for at least 4-6 months while receiving daily medical care, treatments and additional surgeries.

As friends, family and community, we are heartbroken and in awe as what seemed to be such a minor car accident, to the naked eye, has left such devastating results. We have always described Delano as generous, dependable, kind, a natural born leader, influential, community minded and a go-getter with a passion for anything he puts his mind to. We nonetheless remain very optimistic and hopeful.

An avid sports enthusiast, he has given back relentlessly to the community through his involvement in sports from grassroots up to national levels. We can only hope to reciprocate his same energy as we try to help him get back to a sense of normalcy. Our goal is to help alleviate financial burden for medical costs, room and board, time off work for recovery and pending rehabiliation expenses.

On behalf of his wife, Carlishia Mussington, we ask that you please keep Delano in your thoughts and prayers as he heals from the surgeries and transitions into recovery.
