Travail social en Bolivie! (social work)

Nous sommes 15 étudiant-e-s au premier cycle en travail social à l'Université de Québec à Montréal (UQAM) qui, accompagné-e-s d'une professeure de l'école de travail social, réaliseront à l'été 2014 un incroyable séjour de deux mois en Bolivie!

Quel est le projet?
Le projet s'inscrit dans le cadre du cours « TRS3650 : Travail social comparé, Québec "“ Bolivie ». Il s'agit d'un cours optionnel, dans lequel nous procèderons à une analyse comparative des pratiques de travail social du pays d'accueil (Bolivie) et de celles du Québec. Plus spécifiquement nous concentrerons notre attention sur les différents mouvements sociaux et actions collectives liées aux thèmes ciblés. En Bolivie, nous aurons l'opportunité d'échanger avec les intervenant-e-s, les étudiant-e-s et professeur-e-s du milieu et d'offrir notre aide en retour par le biais de bénévolat au sein d'organismes.
-Régions sélectionnées en Bolivie: La Paz, Cobija, Cochabamba et Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
-Thèmes ciblés : les stratégies de lutte contre la pauvreté; le concept d'écocitoyenneté; la condition des femmes et l'intervention féministe; la situation des peuples autochtones; les politiques sociales, les services sociaux et l'enseignement du travail social.

Comment pouvez-vous nous aider?
Nous sommes encore dans la phase de préparation du projet, mais le temps avance très vite! Notre projet d'envergure vient avec ses défis financiers, relevant à 73 080$ pour l'ensemble des 15 participant-e-s. Toutefois, c'est notamment avec l'aide de gens comme vous que nous arriverons à relever ce défi! Aucun don n'est trop petit ou trop grand. Toute contribution est donc énormément appréciée!

Pourquoi faire un don?
Cette expérience sera formatrice à plusieurs niveaux et contribuera grandement à l'élaboration de notre identité professionnelle. Ainsi, en plus d'alimenter notre réflexion sur les différents enjeux du travail social contemporain en contexte interculturel, ce séjour nous permettra d'approfondir des outils techniques et théoriques transférables à la réalité québécoise. Bref, le projet aura une incidence incontournable dans notre formation académique de futur-e-s travailleurs sociaux et travailleuses sociales professionnel-le-s.

We are 15 undergraduate social work students from l'Université de Québec à Montréal (UQAM) who, accompanied by a professor of the faculty of social work, will realize during the summer of 2014 an incredible two month stay in Bolivia!

What is the project?
The project takes place in the context of the course " TRS3650 : Travail social comparé, Québec "“ Bolivie ". This course is an optional class in which we will conduct a comparative analysis of social work practices in the host country (Bolivia) and those in Quebec. More specifically, we shall focus our attention on the different social movements and collective actions related to targeted topics. In Bolivia, we will have the opportunity to exchange with social workers, students and professors from the field of social work, and we will be able to offer our help in return by volunteering in certain organisations.
-Selected regions in Bolivia: La Paz, Cobija, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
-Targeted topics: strategies against poverty; the concept of eco-citizenship; the status of women and feminist intervention; the situation of indigenous peoples; the social policies; the social services and the social work education.

How can you help us?
We are still in the preparation phase, but time will move quickly! Our grand project comes with its financial challenges, totaling 73 080$ for all the 15 participants. Nonetheless, it's with the help of people like you that we will be able to surpass that challenge! No donations are too small or too big. Every contribution is extremely appreciated!

Why donate?
This experience will be very rewarding at several levels and will contribute greatly to the development of our professional identity. Thus, in addition to nourishing our reflexion on the various issues of contemporary social work in an intercultural context, this project will allow us to deepen theoretical and technical tools transferable to the situation in Quebec. In short, the project will have an inevitable impact on our academic growth as future professional social workers.
