Robin and Dicks Journey
Donation protected
Our good friend and colleague Robin Kretchmer (Franklin) was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in December 2022 after routine tests. Robin was working with her medical team on developing a treatment plan including chemotherapy, radiation and surgery when Dick unexpectedly had a stroke on 1/16/2023. He was hospitalized for a few weeks and continues working on his rehabilitation. It is unlikely that Dick will be able to return to work anytime soon. Unfortunately, he does not have any disability benefits through his employer. Their daughter Lauren recently completed her Nursing degree and has accepted a job offer in North Dakota. While she studies for her boards, Lauren has moved home to help her parents during this stressful time.
Robin's journey will be about 6 months to a year and will include much time off work. While they are pursuing options, financials are tight. Both Robin and Dick have a very hard time asking for help. Our goal is to help them to cover out of pocket medical expenses and a few months of mortgage payments.
Many people have asked how they can help, and any financial contribution would be greatly appreciated so they can worry about healing instead of paying bills.
Robin would also like to remind everyone to get your routine tests including a colonoscopy. 75% of colorectal cancer is NOT genetic and may not have symptoms without screening.
