Kristen Karl Dreifort\'s travel expenses for heart surgery

Kris was born with a Congenital Heart Defect. Tetralogy of Fallot to be technical. Basically it means that he has defects in 4 areas of his heart. He had defective valves, a hole in his heart and an extremely narrowed pulmonary artery.

He had a temporary surgery when he was 3 days old, open heart surgery to repair the hole and patch the pulmonary artery when he was one, and open heart surgery to completely open the pulmonary artery and replace 2 valves when he was nineteen. We were so lucky to have been living in Cleveland, because there was only one surgeon in the world that could do the correction, and he was at the Cleveland Clinic.

Valves only last for 10 to 20 years and Kris\' valves have developed leaks. He needs surgery soon or the stress can cause irreperable damage to his heart.

Kris\' Doctor in North Dakota told him he needed surgery immediately. In December Kris came to Cleveland to see the Doctors at The Cleveland Clinic for evaluation. He returned to North Dakota, because he was waiting for Disability insurance and a plan from the doctors.

Kris got a call from the Cleveland Clinic last week. They have a plan and have scheduled him for surgery on July 19th, he still has no insurance, but they want to repair before there is too much damage.

Right now we cannot afford transportation to get Kris to Cleveland. I have found a Reasonable Ticket and He will need a little extra money for Transportation and living expenses while he is in Cleveland. He can stay with his family so expenses will not be too high.

We have decreased our funding needs. Thanks to a Melinda and Garth we no longer need the cost of the Air ticket. We will need additional funds for the public transportation to and from airport because we do not have a reliable car available to us and for meals and miscellaneous expenses for the several trips we will need to take into the City.
