Sweet
Annie is resting at the Marion Dupont Scott Equine Medical Center with a
tibial fracture. Annie got kicked in the field when she was playing with her friends. Horses are so strong, yet so fragile. The next few weeks are going to be tough, please keep
her in your thoughts and send lots of positive energy her way. She is a
very special pony who has touched the lives of many children. Annie is doing well so far but is expected to need to stay at the Medical Center for 1 to 2 weeks. Emily and Madelyn are tying to visit her at least every other day so that she doesn't get too lonely or sad. We don't know what the bill will be for her stay at the Medical Center but we do know that it will be substantial. Any donation towards her medical care would be greatly appreciated. Annie's prognosis is good, if she gets through the next two weeks ok she should make a complete recovery and be back to teaching beginner lessons by summer.
Here is how Sweet Annie came to live at our farm (written by Emily)
Sweet Annie is an amazing pony with an amazing story. Annie found me. She came from an auction in Ohio and was in the neighbor's field where the local horse dealer kept some of his horses. She was very sick and we decided to call her Annie because she was an orphan, no one knew her history. She found me exactly one month before Madelyn was born. Annie taught me more about training horses than any other horse. She taught me that through love and patience, you can accomplish anything. She went from being a scared, untrusting pony to the sweetest pony who could swap leads like a pro while jumping a 2' course on top of teaching all levels of kids to really ride and feel. Madelyn is turning 8 next week and she has grown up on top of Annie. They have the bond every little girl dreams of. They have a magical story and I know Annie will pull through!!
