The Wood Family has been through so much and is in need of financial help after the loss of their father and husband, Trevor. They should not have to bear the weight of worry along with the grief they feel, and so I ask you for your help. They have bills and expenses to pay and anything you can give is helpful, even if it is just a share on Facebook.
First off, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read this. It means more than you know. My name is Lexie Young and I am raising money for the Wood Family.
I grew up down the street from Bailey, Jake, and Scott, and their parents Lisa and Trevor. Bailey and I were best friends, and still are (although I consider her more like family than friend). Jake was friends with my older brother, Tommy, and all the other boys that lived on our street. I remember them being so mean to us little girls (or maybe my memory is a little biased) - but all in good older brotherly love of course. Scott was the eldest and ended up going to Southeast Missouri State. He joined a fraternity and made an impact on so many lives… all while he was battling cancer. His fraternity nickname was “Jock”, and with a play on Livestrong Foundation’s motto “Livestrong”, “Jockstrong” was born. However, only a few years after Scott was diagnosed, he tragically succumbed to cancer on February 9th, 2012. He was 21.
No one should have to endure the pain that their family endured: the loss of a brother and son. And it saddens me even more that they will go through this type of loss yet again.
It pains me to tell you all that, again, they have lost a dear family member. On Wednesday November 4th, 2015, their father had what seemed to be a heart attack, and later passed away in the hospital. He was 49. Trevor was such an amazing father, and I know this not only from the words of his children, but from my own memories as well. I remember him and our neighbor Zack calling each other “Zackaria” and “Tracy” every time they spoke, I remember him cracking a joke every single time he passed one of us kids outside, I remember Jake and the boys and Trevor hanging out on their driveway, I remember all of the dads on our street standing around a bon fire and watching us knuckleheads screw around. Scott’s fraternity brothers even referred to Trevor as a brother. He was such a great father, husband, and friend. The time he spent with his kids was cherished and I can see such a big part of him in them.
He was an all-round generous, loving, humorous, teddy bear of a man with a “golden heart”, something that has been said many times before.
Now why am I asking for your help?
Trevor worked at a car dealership and Lisa is a stay at home mother. They no longer have a reliable income and need time to get back on their feet. Bailey wants to go college as well and I want that to be an option for her. The money will be used for any living expenses they have: house payments, school payments, gas, food, etc.
If we can raise any money to help them out, I would be incredibly grateful to see these three wonderful people I love not have to worry about putting food on the table or losing their house, especially in this time of sadness. I know that they would be even more thankful to all of you and it would not go to waste. They need these funds as soon as possible so please share and spread the word! This family is so amazing. They are such strong people and they deserve so much more than they have gotten.
Let’s help them get to a place where they can heal in peace so that they can remember and cherish the memories they have of their father and husband, and brother and son.
Thank you for ANY donation, big or small, and thank you for sharing this page!
