Support Frank’s Cost of Living
Donation protected
Hello!
We are so grateful you are here to hear Frank’s story, and we are doubly grateful for any support you choose to offer - whether it is money or sharing this fund with others!
We are a few members of Frank’s community who are invested in supporting him.
The reason we began this fund is that Frank is in his late 70s, he has health issues that prevent him from earning income, and we are his primary support system. He does not have relatives in his life, and we are a group of full-time students and hourly wage earners who cannot afford to financially sustain him ourselves anymore. We have been doing so throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and we realized we need to ask for help in order to continue.
First, we’ll tell you a bit about who Frank is, and then a bit about us. Finally, we’ll let you know why we chose to start this fund and the details of how these funds will be used to support him.
Frank is one of the funniest, wisest, and most curious people any of us have met. He has been an Allston resident for over 20 years, and is a regular face at nearby Starbucks, Brookline Booksmith and Ritual Arts. He is always happy to talk anything from poetry to Buddhism to pop music to food. His friendship is deeply important to all of us, and we are glad to have met him.
We are a group of folks, Bailey, Kylah, Haley and Tyler, along with our extended communities, who call Frank a friend. Some of us met him through his visits to our Starbucks and some through mutual friends.
While Kylah has been tirelessly working to get what assistance she can for Frank from the government, it is not enough.
His current quality of life is extremely poor and we know he deserves better. He is moving to new housing soon and needs new, clean belongings. He deserves a clean bed, clean clothes and groceries. He deserves security for unexpected life events. We know that every single person deserves this, and we hope that through this fund you can help Frank get this through your donation or sharing.
We will keep you updated with regular photos and updates from Frank. His initial reaction to this was that it was fine with him because he “doesn’t know anyone on the internet” ;) Maybe you can be Frank’s first internet friend!
Our initial goals include a mattress, toiletries, kitchen supplies and a bookshelf.
