John Lamie Fundraiser for Cancer Treatments

Hello everyone,

We are the daughters of John Lamie!

Our father, John Lamie, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer abbreviated SNUC (Sinonasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma) after undergoing an urgent surgical procedure on June 20, 2022 involving a neurosurgeon as well as an ENT. John moved to Arizona in April of this year to advance his career but shortly after beginning his new position; he started to experience symptoms of double vision, severe headaches, and numbness involving his face. Our lives changed forever when one of my dad's surgeons came out of his surgery and told my mom, sister, sister's fiance (Roy), and me, "I am afraid I am right; this is cancer". A 3-night stay followed his surgery in the Hospital. After he was discharged came a wide range of appointments with Medical Oncology, ENT, Radiation Oncology, and Neurosurgery, followed by various tests, including a PET CT scan. We learned that despite our Dad having a rather aggressive form of cancer, it had not spread to the lymph nodes or other distant organs of the body; however, upon surgical inspection, it did involve part of his brain called the dura. The treatment plan involves Chemotherapy and 30 daily Radiation treatments. Our dad's surgical recovery and treatment are brutal and he has and will continue to overcome many challenges and obstacles that come his way. However, dad has been as STRONG as he can be.

If you know our dad, you know he is a funny, loving, and compassionate man. Despite the pain and suffering he is enduring, we still look to him for support and unconditional love he has always given, no matter what. We are working extensively to ensure dad is comfortable and in good spirits.
