In January, Katie Consalvo was diagnosed with Uterine Leiomyosarcoma a rare and aggressive cancer. After rounds of chemotherapy and unsuccessful attempts with trial cancer treatments, Katie has been put on hospice care. As you can imagine, the Consalvo family is beside themselves with grief and disbelief.
For over 15 years the Consalvo Family have been familiar faces at many sporting events, fundraisers, or school activities. Brian, Katie along with Andrew and Emily have coached, volunteered, or spear headed many important youth athletics and community events . They have left their mark on PTO's, Circle of Sports, School Booster Clubs, Project Graduation and other organizations throughout town. You can't say Watertown without thinking of a Consalvo~ especially Katie!
Katie grew up in Watertown, attended all Watertown schools and in 2000 she and her husband Brian settled down in Watertown to raise their family.
Brian, a Brookfield native, proudly wore his Orange, Black & White on the sidelines coaching his kids while Katie was the team mom and cheer coordinator. As the years go on and the kids grow, Katie still remains involved while watching Andrew and Emily coach the sports they love.
From Little World Cup, to Water-Oak Pop Warner, to WHS Sports and Parent Organizations Katie has volunteered countless hours of her time. She did not just help out but more importantly she took great responsibility in all her roles to make sure everything ran smoothly and successfully.
Among all the roles that Katie has played, the most important role is Mom. She has not only guided her kids on the playing field and on the cheer mat but she instills the importance of family values, education and taking pride in their faith as much as she does.
Fighting such a devastating illness requires mental, emotional and physical strength and prayers, all of which are being supported by her family and friends. Now we need the Watertown Community to RALLY in support of Katie and her family for future financial support. All gifts through Katie's Kindness GoFundMe will directly benefit the Consalvo family.
