5th Grade Book Club - Build a Well in South Sudan
Tax deductible
Dear Friends and Family,
Our names are Brandon, Ian, Max, Levent, and Daniel, and our 5th-grade book club read a very impactful book this summer that inspired us to reach out to you about a fantastic non-profit organization called Water for South Sudan.
The book we read is called “A Long Walk to Water”, and it taught us about how many people worldwide do not have access to clean water for drinking and basic sanitation. We learned that children living in rural African villages walk many hours to collect drinking water from lakes and ponds. Frequently this water is not fit for drinking, and it makes people very sick. Many people still die from preventable water-borne illnesses as a result.
We want your support to help us build a well in a Sudanese village by donating to our GoFundMe page for Water for South Sudan. Our fundraising goal is $15,000.00, which is the cost of building a well in a village.
Building a well in a village ensures that children like us will not only have access to clean drinking water but will also be able to go to school because they won’t have to spend their days collecting water for their families. We can turn on a sink and get drinkable fresh water in the United States. Many people in South Sudan do not have that luxury.
We would be honored to have your support in our effort to help children like us live happier, healthier lives. We greatly appreciate whatever you may be able to contribute, and we will keep you posted on our progress!
Sincerely,
Brandon, Ian, Max, Levent, and Daniel
