Shane Strong

In November 2021, Shane (Katie's Dad) was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue and mouth. Since that diagnosis, he has been fighting to beat cancer through various treatment regimens, including surgeries, intensive chemo, and radiation.

Unfortunately, in June of 2022, Shane learned the cancer had spread to the opposite side of his jaw and neck. He continues to seek multiple opinions to find the best care possible so that he can add "Cancer Survivor" to his long list of impressive titles; best dad, wonderful husband, reliable friend, hard worker, etc.

With treatment costs mounting and time away from work, we wanted to start this GoFundMe with hopes of relieving some of the financial pressure that Shane and Shannon are facing. This way, they can continue to focus on what's important, regaining health and a better quality of life.

Shane and Shannon have tried to remain as private as possible throughout this process and have not asked for anyone's help. We are hoping to keep this quiet too so we can surprise them with the gift you have given. We encourage sharing this GoFundMe with friends, family, coworkers, etc but request to keep it as private as possible.

If you cannot support financially, please consider sharing some encouraging thoughts, prayers or fun stories/memories for Shane that we can share with him to uplift his spirits as his journey continues.
