In Memory Of Joylin Anderson-Calhoun
Donation protected
Our Beloved Joy passed away on July 11, 2018 of Colon Cancer! Joy always took care of others before herself in life and her family believes that this is what she would have wanted in death. We have picked several entities/causes that were near and dear to her.
She believed in Christian Education so much that her favorite saying to her children was “I work 3 jobs so you could go to this school...!” Matthew our youngest graduated this past May from a Christian Education school and our other 2 children Malik and Malcolm as well as Joylin and her siblings were products of a Christian Education.
Having 3 African American sons in the environment we are living in now always caused her concern, so much so that she joined an organization that is dedicated to positively influencing how Black boys and men are perceived and treated by law enforcement and in society. Her worst nightmare was that she would get that frightful call in the middle of the night, she feared that more than her own fight for life against cancer.
So instead of sending cards and flowers please join us in honoring her memory by donating to one of the causes she spent her life donating her time, energy and money to.
We will split the donations between two schools, South Suburban S.D.A. http://anfbso.adventistschoolconnect.org and Fairhaven S.D.A http://www.fairhavensda.org. We have included a link to both of those schools as well as a link to donate directly to Moms of Black Boys (MOBB) United, Inc. and MOBB United for Social Change, Inc. (MUSC) https://www.mobbunited.org/donations/donate.asp?id=15657
