Dexters Fight

from the bottoms of our hearts we thank each and every one of you that has contributed to Dexters fight! We are absolutely blown away by the amount of love and support we have received in just three days! What an incredible bunch of people!!

On the 14th of september 2023 Our 14 year old Nephew Dexter was admitted to the Mt Gambier hospital after suffering extreme tiredness and a swollen face, doctors quickly discovered Dexter had an enlarged heart that had been leaking toxic fluids in to his body. His lungs stomach and liver were all affected. Dexter was quickly transfered to Adelaide where doctors tried to drain the fluid but Dexters small body couldnt cope. He was quickly placed in to a coma and put on life support and sent to the Royal childrens hospital in Melbourne to recieve further care. Dexters body is struggling to cope with the trauma and his parents were told that unfortunately his little heart has failed him and he will need a heart transplant.. both Dexters parents have had to drop everything to rush to their sons side so you can imagine the toll it has taken on all of them, Bianca has only 3 weeks ago opened her life long dream Lucielles cafe and eatery with her sister which she has had to up and leave, Everybody knows that Bianca and Dexters father Damien (ducky) would jump for anyone in need at any given time but they would never ask anyone else for help but now its our turn to give back. Dexter remains on life support and will need to remain in hospital for what could be months to years or longer. We want to do whatever we can do to help ease any financial stress on both parents and their respective families. Both parents have had to stop working and with mortgages and day to day living expenses plus travel costs and accomodation the strain is Enormous.
