Michelle’s Miracle

Two years ago my mom Michelle was diagnosed with a rare from of diabetes called LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes in adult). This disease caused her to gain fluid all throughout her body. Doctors decided to put her on dialysis as her kidneys began to fail. About a year ago she was scheduled for a kidney transplantation and the night before she was suppose to undergo the surgery she developed an infection which caused her to sustain a below the knee amputation on one of her legs. She stayed positive through all of this. Due to the life changing surgery that caused her to lose her leg we had to make changes to our house like adding a ramp on the front and making more room for her to navigate within the house. She also is on disability as she cannot return to work yet.July 16th, 2018 is a day that my family and I will never forget because it changed my mom's life forever. My mom finally received her kidney transplantation and is doing well.The purpose of this fundraiser is to take some of the financial burden off my mother as she will need to pay for the follow up appointments and anti-rejection medicine which can cost up to $450 a month. Even if you can not donate your prayers would be helpful as well as messages I can share with her as my mom has a long road of recovery ahead of her.
