Thomas Feeney & Family
Donation protected
Thomas learned on July 21st that he has AML, a form of leukemia. He wasn't feeling well for a few weeks and after they pulled into Denver from their summer road trip, he went immediately to the hospital where he was admitted, given several units of blood, and then transferred to PSL where they specialize in blood cancers.
Many miracles have already happened regarding his care, but he has a road ahead of him for healing. Thomas will be in the hospital for quite some time where he has already started intensive chemo treatments. His treatments will take up to three years and will include a bone marrow transplant.
Thomas works during the boys' school hours and then is the main caregiver for the kids while Dana does three full days. The two of them have a magic way of balancing their household, but will need a lot of extra hands during the next several months and years+ as Thomas takes time off work for treatments.
Due to the nature of Thomas' treatments, the boys are not able to visit him in the hospital, so their lives have changed quite a bit with solely Skype and FaceTime.
Funds raised will help provide finances for full time caregivers helping the family adjust to this new season as Dana still works, gas for extra trips to the hospital, and specifically covering costs for one caregiver who will be moving to town for 6 months to help during the beginning of this season.
Please check back here to follow the journal updates, find out prayer needs, send notes of encouragement, check out the "Ways to Help" tab, and cheer on Thomas as he heals and gets well! It takes a community! Thanks for being part of the Feeney crew! We are so grateful!
