Help Ellie’s belly!

Hi everyone! I’m Lauren, a rising junior in college, living in an apartment and (kind of) fending for myself through my serving job. About this time last summer, when was moving into my very first apartment, I decided to disappoint my parents and take a trip over to the Humane Society of Northeast GA. There I found a 4 year old lab/shepard mix named Ellie, panting calmly in one of the kennels. They told me Ellie had been at the shelter twice- the first time with her puppy, who got adopted without her, and the second time because her owners “didn’t want a dog anymore” after having her for a year. They told me she was extremely calm and would be a perfect addition to an apartment. I was sold. Fast forward a year and here we are now. Ellie is such a loving, happy, and sometimes quite anxious, addition to my life- and I wouldn’t trade her for anything (despite the ripped carpet, having her lock me out of the apartment TWICE, and the endless amount of scratched doors and bitten doorknobs). However, here’s where this gofundme comes in. After taking Ellie in for a checkup, the vet has informed me that she has 3 lumps in her breasts, that could mean mammary tumors- possibly from being spayed late in life. To find out if these tumors are cancerous, Ellie would have to undergo surgery... an expensive surgery. The vet estimated that the entire cost of the procedure would be $824.91. This is definitely not something I can afford right now, considering I’m a broke college student serving at good ol’ Chili’s. So I’m asking for help from anyone who loves Ellie, or just dogs in general, and has a few extra dollars to spare! After calling the vet today, there aren’t any payment plan options, so the bill would have to be payed in full on the day of the surgery.
