Milo”s story
Donation protected
Hi our names are Lauren and George and we are fundraising to help our new member of the family Milo who we have had now for 3 months and love him very much.
This is Milo Brett, but better known as Moo…. He is 5 months old British Shorthair kitten who was bred by a 1st class registered breeder. We have just discovered he has a very rare condition called a “liver shunt’… this is rare in cats and very uncommon in kittens. It is where the tube that goes onto the liver to filter the toxins in his blood developed outside the liver. This means the toxins are going around his body causing drooling from the mouth, growth stunt, being lathergic and other physical symptoms. Milo was referred to an animal hospital where he had to undergo a CT scan, it has been confirmed that the only chance of survival is a major operation. Due to him being so tiny this will have to be done by a specialist team as not many Veterinary surgeons perform this operation. Unfortunately this comes at a price and we have been told the operation and hospitalisations will be around the £6k without any complications, but then he can live a long normal life. The only other option is having him put to sleep, but this is such a shame as he has a loving home and can have a full life ahead of him with this operation. Milo is insured up to £4,000 but the scan, bloods and other procedure have already eaten into that and already cost £2,900
Any amount you're able to donate will be greatfully received, Even if you can't afford to donate, just sharing this appeal would increase Milo’s chances hugely and stop him being put to sleep and being able to live a normal cat life with his loving family
