Meet Oscar the warrior - A 14 year old boy that spent most his life committed to his football career, who signed to West Ham United as a goalkeeper at the age of 9. Hoping one day to be the No1 GK for his country.
Oscar was diagnosed with Ependymoma stage 3 rare cancerous brain tumour a year ago on 25th August 2023 after Mum Natalie had to urge the hospital to listen to her because for 8 whole months they just kept turning poor Oscar away with Mental health, anxiety, iron deficiency and Migraines.
Since August 25th 2023 Oscar the warrior has undergone 7 surgeries, one round of chemo and one round of radiotherapy to be awfully be told Palliative care was the only option. Oscar the warrior, mum Natalie, dad Russell and brother Harry didn’t give up the fight and Oscar the warrior turned the science world and the UK team on their heads as January 2024 the MRI result were "The solid tumours and blood spread has shrunk"
Oscar continued to battle while the UK made a plan and they ran Oscar alongside a treatment called SIOP.
4 Months of VEC chemotherapy vincristine, etoposide and cyclophosphamide.
After another MRI in May 2024 the resulting chemo sessions had paused the disease but not made any significant changes. Our team moved Oscar onto 30 cycles of radiotherapy to the areas needed.
Half way through, Oscar’s cancer became resistant to the radiotherapy and tumours where growing on the outside of his scull “never to be seen or witnessed”
Our team gratefully amended the plan and radiotherapy mask whilst Oscar continues to be a super warrior with great health and wellness, completing all 30 cycles.
Six weeks later, new MRI results showed that the treatment has failed and our Oscar the warrior now has a prognosis of a few months.
As you can all image the fight we have had since August 2023 the fight will continue we WILL NOT GIVE UP!
We have found a treatment called MEMMAT that no one in the UK can provide. There are 22 cities in the world, one of them being France, Lille and wait for it, its called The Oscar Lembert Center, “it’s meant to be”
We are hoping for a cure and at this time France is our only optio so that we can create more precious memories with our Oscar
We have a meeting on Friday with our France Oncologist. The first meeting is to discuss the treatment plan as Oscar has now been accepted by the French specialist. The cost of the whole MEMMAT treatment, plus partially living cost to support our son in France is £100,000!
If our children are our future, please please help us save our precious warrior and we, Your Forever Fairs Family, will continuously hold you forever in our hearts.
