Home Repair
Donation protected
This is the home of Rose Johnson, due to illness, financial distress, her home is in ill repair and is in desperate need of help. Rose is emotionally tied to her childhood home; her father, a sharecropper purchased the home with money he put aside to own something for his family. Over 50 years ago, he moved the little house on the land he sharecropped and is the only home Rose knows. This humble home was a huge acquisition for her father. Shirley Johnson, her sister and other family members has exhausted funds trying to do repairs. It is Rose's desire to remain in the home and keep a portion of their Father's hard-earned home purchase from total ruin. On March 23, 2021, high winds descended in Waxia, Louisiana, and lifted the 3-year-old roof and water has damaged the interior and areas of recent repairs. The home is still situated on the sharecropped land her father was allowed to homestead, but there is no homeowner's insurance. Rose's health and meager income do not allow her to make the needed repairs and family members have exhausted their means. Any help would be welcomed; financially, materials, labor, and prayers for Rose's desire to remain in the home until death. Help preserve this Sharecropper's dream to leave a home and mark for his family. We would like to complete renovations by June of this year. Thank you and God Bless you for whatever you donate.
