The Webber Family

Our names are Isabelle and Olivia Webber and we started this GoFundMe to support our Dad with funeral and medical costs after the death of our Mother, Ellen (Banwell) Webber.
In 2016, our Mom, Ellen (Banwell) Webber was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. After a surgery and countless treatments of chemo and radiation, she was declared to be in remission, and remained in remission for four wonderful years. In late 2020 her cancer returned. Thankfully, treatment was available and worked well. She was once again, declared to be in remission. In 2022, we were told once again, that her cancer returned. For the THIRD time, Mom bravely underwent treatment and once again, was cancer free. Finally, in the summer of 2023, Mom was diagnosed with cancer for the fourth time. She underwent more treatment, but ultimately, no treatment was working. While waiting to be admitted to a clinical trial, her condition deteriorated rapidly. She was admitted to hospice before she could start the clinical trial.
Ellen Webber was so much more than the cancer that took her life. She was known for her quick wit and impeccable comedic timing. She had the remarkable ability to find humor in any situation. Her laughter was contagious, filling every room she entered with joy and warmth. Her smile, bright and infectious, had the power to light up even the darkest of days. Her wit and humor touched the lives of countless individuals.
Ellen dubbed herself the "Queen of Everything," and owned the color orange. Ellen's love for the color orange was more than just a preference; it was a reflection of her zest for life. Her passion for orange was only surpassed by her devotion to her husband, her two daughters, pets, and the community she held dear.
A visitation will be held at Ashton Hill Farm in Cedar Rapids on Thursday March 14th from 4pm-7pm. Her family and friends will be making remarks and sharing their favorite memories beginning around 6pm. The family requests that you wear something orange.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday March 15th, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion, Iowa, with Father Sean Smith officiating the mass. A reception will follow in the basement of the church.
All funeral information can be found at Murdoch Funeral Home website.
