This fundraiser was created for Xavier Garcia to provide financial support for his family during this strenuous time. At the end of the fundraiser, 100% of funds will be directed to Xavier’s care. The everyday costs can be very stressful and impactful to our family and our goal is to help support the overhead of medical and hospice expenses while the Garcia family faces this challenging and painful time.
Five years ago, Xavier was diagnosed with cancer. He has never chosen to succumb to this illness and he continued to cycle to strengthen his heart and spirit. He has also voluntarily tried experimental, cutting edge therapies. The last five years have been nothing short of a miracle. His family and friends have truly been blessed.
Xavier is now entering the final stages of this dreadful illness as his health has progressed past any treatment options. It has been absolutely amazing to see that Xavier is loved by so many. He is undoubtedly the most inspirational husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, son, cousin and friend.
Some of you may not know that he is a talented architect specializing in hospital design, including helping design a portion of the hospital where he is now. In fact, he has been working with his illness up to the day he was recently admitted — during this time and for many years before he has helped modernize many hospitals and medical offices in Southern California which are part of his legacy.
His positive disposition, passion for his work, avid cycling, overall joie de vivre and amazing courage have been a true testament to his strength and determination to fight the fight of his life. It is devastating to enter this next step of his medical journey both emotionally and financially. And while we can not cure his disease, we are asking for help so his family can make him comfortable through this end stage of his illness in the next few months.
We respectfully request to honor the family’s time and privacy during this precious period of his life.
He has two loving children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and three beautiful grandchildren that keep him motivated to hope for the best. His family and friends have rallied like warriors to show Xavier what unconditional love looks like. Xavier and Tess are beyond grateful and humbled by the level of love, support and prayers they have received. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
