Babette "GOING FOR THE GOLD" Peyton

Donation protected

I am so excited the 2020 Olympics are back on! They are scheduled to take place this summer 2021!

My name is Babette Peyton.  I am an African American /Native American disabled woman veteran archer. I discovered the world of archery after severe illness that led to partial paralysis and then threat of hospice care. My lowest point was ten months of homelessness.  Archery was the ray of light that led me out of my darkest hour. Through my amazing coaches, I discovered that God has blessed me with the incredible ability to shoot a bow and arrow with my right hand and mouth from my wheelchair. With great determination and joy, I trained with every ounce of my ability. As a result, I have won numerous awards and participated in regional and national competitions including one international competition.  Check out this televised interview on my journey: Disabled vet is shooting for a trip to the Rio Olympics

I am asking for your support and others you may influence, to support me, so I may have the opportunity to qualify for the team for the 2020 Olympic / Paralympics (rescheduled for 2021) to be held in Tokyo this summer 2021. I cannot achieve this goal without your help. Please make a donation today!

Your support will allow me to continue training with the best Olympic coaches and participate in national and international trials leading up to the Olympic Games. It will support me as I prove that a disabled veteran can compete shoulder to shoulder with archers who have already won Olympic / Paralympic gold, silver and bronze medals as well as current world record holders.

Your support will fund expenses including:
·         sporting equipment and accessories (bows, arrows, quiver, etc.)
·         motorized wheelchair designed for sporting events
·         coaching and training fees
·         practice range fees
·         PCA /archery assistant
·         travel and lodging expenses
·         sporting apparel and USA competition uniforms
·         accessible van transportation (local transportation)
·         travel and medical insurance
·         special nutrition

Return on your support and investment in me:

After serving in the military, I have dedicated a portion of my life to serving others through a non-profit organization I founded to teach young people entrepreneurial and business skills called the Young Entrepreneurs of the Universe (YEU).  In 2005 the Veteran Benefit Act (VBA) passed by Congress and the Presidential Executive Order 13360 to aid the employment of disabled veterans through federal agencies and prime contractors.  In response, I created YEU Veteran Initiatives, a program of YEU for the young and the young at heart, aimed to create job and entrepreneurial opportunities for veterans. In 2018, I added the Success (DADS) Inclusion Initiative project to YEU activities. The goal was to raise awareness of ADA compliance needs and spur commercial businesses and housing organizations into action; while recognizing and awarding those that have made great strides. The first event scheduled for fall of 2020, was postpone due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After I achieve my Olympic /Paralympics dreams, my future goal is to develop a non-for-profit wheel chair and adaptive sports focused organization for all ages that creates avenues for people with disabilities to impact society in meaningful ways. I also plan to conduct events that encourage others to realize that disability is not a death sentence.

Please consider supporting me today on my journey to the Olympics and Paralympics today! THANK YOU AND MUCH LOVE TO YOU!
