hi! my name is Leo, i’m a 21-year-old trans man from the midwest, and (as much as i hate to admit it) i need some help. right now, i work for a school bus company with special needs kids and small children, and i hope to return to college soon so i can become a neonatal nurse. i have several bills to pay a month totaling around $400 and my paychecks are... nothing fantastic. i also pay a portion of the rent at my boyfriend’s place and help with groceries when i can, but i also need money for gas because i work an hour away from where i live. so, that brings bills to around $600-$700 a month. aside form those bills, i have a $300 hospital bill i have to pay off and about $1,400 in college debt. by the time i get all that paid off, i’ll have to start all over for saving up for top surgery, which is about $8,000 altogether. i’m also working on getting another job, but i do have some restrictions on the amount of hours and scheduling times i can work. so this sucks a little and i’m really trying my best to get everything paid for myself, but waiting really isn’t much of an option anymore. if you know anything about binders and binding one’s chest so that it appears flat, it isn’t comfortable at all. as soon as you have to get ready to leave the house, you have to worry about what you’re wearing, whether or not you look “flat enough”, if you can see your binder peeking out from underneath your shirt, or if someone is going to give you trouble for the way you look. it hurts. you can’t breathe. you can’t move. and it is physically AND emotionally exhausting. i wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. and the cost of this surgery is enough to discourage anyone. any donation counts, everything is appreciated, and if there is ANYTHING i can do for anyone, LET ME KNOW! send me a message, we’ll talk!
